Lung Cancer Foundation of America
A couple of years ago, two lung cancer survivors (Lori Monroe and David Sturges) and a lung cancer widow (Kim Norris) discovered that even though lung cancer killed more Americans each year than the next six cancers combined, the vast majority of funding for lung cancer was going to prevention. Not detection. Not treatment. And not a cure.  Together, Lori, David and Kim spoke with America’s top lung cancer researchers, members of Congress, the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and other cancer advocacy groups. After careful study they decided to form a new organization, committed to raising money to support lung cancer research.

LCFA’s goal is simple: to provide the necessary and critical funding for creative and leading edge lung cancer research programs to help find early detection, treatment, and ultimately a cure for this deadly disease. LCFA is a national organization, and raises money throughout the United States, often from the private sector.

At the same time, Lori, David and Kim and their colleagues at LCFA were thrilled to learn that there are now a number of other organizations also fighting lung cancer. As far as LCFA is concerned, these other groups are not competitors, but sister organizations, all joined in a battle against the same enemy. LCFA is flattered and very grateful that so many other lung cancer organizations are supporting the Breathe Life campaign, and posting the information on their websites and to their own supporters.
